POSITION OVERVIEW

The Career Leadership Collective (The Collective), a prominent US college and university consultancy focusing on holistic career education, and home of The National Alumni Career Mobility (NACM) Survey and EMBARK: strategic First Destination Survey (FDS) services, is seeking to hire a Consultant to serve the growing needs for training, consulting, professional development, and executive search through The Collective. 

 

The successful candidate will be discerning about innovative solutions and national trends in college and university career services; engaging, comfortable, organized, and confident as a facilitator and communicator for both virtual and in-person groups consisting of various campus stakeholders; and an outstanding ability to clearly present information through written reports and online communications. 

 

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Consulting.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Onsite and virtual custom consulting projects: Work with campus partners and consulting team members to identify consulting project scope of work, investigate project landscape with campus stakeholders, design campus specific career development implementation solutions, write reports, and communicate to campus partners about related observations and recommendations. 

  • Onsite and virtual training and presentations: Develop and deliver facilitated and teaching content at Career Leadership Collective events, at individual campuses, and other key constituents.

  • Executive Search Facilitation: Partner with campuses to source and hire career development professionals. 

  • Signature program development: Lead and co-lead the ongoing content development and partner communications related to the Collective’s signature programs, such as the Kickstart and Aspire.

  • Relationship Development: Cultivate relationships with career services professionals through Career Leadership Collective events and conferences.

  • Reports and Content Development: Assist with writing various reports, blogs, and articles. 

  • Mentorship: play a non-supervisory mentor role to key volunteers, fellowship recipients, and subcontractors involved in the consulting services, events, and content development offerings of The Career Leadership Collective. 

  • Internal Collaboration and Synchronization: Ongoing communication with the Career Insights, Data and Research team and University Partnership Team regarding partners and training topics. Organize contacts in collaboration with the broader Career Leadership team to ensure quality of our CRM database and partner interactions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters Degree 

  • Minimum of five (5) years working inside a college or university career services office, or equivalent experience at a consulting or training company combined with clear knowledge of higher education. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Leadership experience within higher education, career services, EdTech, or adjacent industries

  • Understanding of college career services and emerging trends and paradigm shifts

  • Understanding of the diverse functional areas within higher education and a natural confidence and comfortability interacting with various stakeholders and leaders

  • Experience leading and fostering strategic change 

  • Personal commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion 

  • Outstanding written and executive communication skills

JOB DETAILS

  • Full-time, salaried, exempt from overtime

  • Fully remote 

  • Overnight travel required for projects and training

  • Salary 70-80K commensurate with experience

The Collective currently offers the following survey services for US colleges and universities: 

  • NACM 5/10: Comprehensive annual alumni survey of 5- and 10-year alumni for campuses. Includes an annual national report for the field of higher education. 

  • First Destination Survey Services: Comprehensive collection, cleaning, interactive dashboard visualization, and reports service, which comes with an alumni data refresh to increase knowledge rates and the ability to connect to the NACM New Grad core for increased results on career preparation and campus best practices.

  • NACM New Grad core: A set of questions from our NACM 5/10 survey that can be added to any campus FDS instrument in order to benchmark nationally against other schools and connect with the NACM 5/10 survey data.

  • Custom Alumni Career Survey Services: A fully customizable option for alumni career surveys. 

  • Quick Polls and Insights: The Collective regularly sends out quick polls and surveys on hot topics in the field of career services.
