About the event
In today's complex higher education landscape, career services leaders face the daunting task of balancing multiple priorities and keeping staff morale high while many on campus are pursuing different priorities. This intensive aims to empower career leaders with the knowledge and tools to effectively build and sustain momentum in their career services initiatives despite the myriad challenges they may encounter across campus.
Through interactive discussions, case studies, and best practice sharing, participants will explore strategies for aligning career services with overarching institutional goals, engaging stakeholders, leveraging leadership strategies, and overcoming common obstacles. By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with actionable insights to enhance the impact and visibility of career services within their institutions, ultimately fostering the success and employability of their students.
Learning Objectives
In this intensive workshop, participants will:
- Identify key challenges and competing priorities that may hinder the momentum of career services on campus.
- Understand how to find alignment with institutional goals even when said goals don’t relate to career services.
- Explore innovative strategies for building and sustaining momentum in career services in the midst of challenges, including stakeholder engagement, resource allocation, and staff morale.
- Develop actionable plans to overcome current and common obstacles and enhance the impact and visibility of career services within their respective institutions.
